Larrakia Homes has completed their major project with Defence Housing Australia (DHA) and CIC Australia Limited (CIC), constructing 40 new homes at Lyons.
The project, completed in December 2010 includes 10 houses and 15 duplexes, many of which will accommodate existing and relocated Defence families.
The Lyons construction project provided a range of employment and business opportunities for Larrakia Development Corporation including meaningful employment for Larrakia. In addition, Larrakia Environmental Services were contracted to provide turf and landscaping at each new home.
The Lyons development is a benchmark for residential development in Darwin with all homes built to the Green Building Council Australia, Green Star Rating. The tropical-style homes have reconfigured floor plans that allow for maximum cross flow ventilation and unique, environmentally friendly, energy efficiencies.
