Medina Vibe

Larrakia Development Corporation logo

In early December 2009, the Larrakia Development Corporation purchased a 50% share of the Vibe and Medina Grand Darwin Waterfront Hotels, in conjunction with Indigenous Business Australia (IBA).

The hotels, which were built by the Toga Group, performed strongly in 2010 and have been recognised for their premium dining and accommodation facilities. Overlooking the Waterfront wave pool and saltwater beach, they are linked to Darwin’s CBD by a new walkway and lifts, which give access from the city centre to the Waterfront.

The partnership between the Larrakia Development Corporation and the International Toga Group, will complement the Larrakia Development Corporation’s existing businesses providing Aboriginal training and employment opportunities.

In partnership with Charles Darwin University (CDU) Palmerston Campus, Larrakia Development Corporation and Toga Groups’ two Darwin hotels Medina Vibe and Travelodge, a planned “mini campus” will be provided at the Medina Vibe for hospitality, hotel operations and management training. Students will receive on the job, practical training and be recognised as part of a proposed new Hotel Management Degree to be offered at CDU.
